OK, final Halloween costume idea!!

New costume idea, better than Melanie from the Birds.  Paul and I are going to be Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett!!  I already have some of the stuff for my costume, and so does Paul.

This girl posted her costume on Craftster and I'm madly in love with that purse - goes with the costume AND it's functional!  So I asked her to make me one... we'll see what she says back.

Paul already has the pin-striped pants... the vest will be a bit tougher, but we'll figure something out. And I'm sure we can figure out how to alter a belt to make it a razor-holster :) I dunno that I can do the poofy sleeves, we'll see. We might just have to make do with a regular old white dress shirt.

I have a corset-like top I think I can alter... I think I can figure out how to make the top part and add some froofy ruffle-like stuff around the top and on the sleeves.  I'm sure Hot Topic has some lacy, fingerless gloves.

I'm doing red-and-black striped tights and I have no idea what kind of shoes she wears, but it probably doesn't matter all that much. Her skirt covers most of it. I dunno what I will do for the skirt, yet... I have a red petticoat from our wedding that would look pretty sweet sticking out of the bottom, but I have to figure out a skirt first. Hmm. I wonder if I have an old bridesmaid dress I can desecrate. I'm sure I do, somewhere. I could probably figure out how to make a skirt, too.

Uh, let it be known that I can't replicate the costume exactly... I certainly am not that well endowed.  I think I can pull off the hair, though :)
And I can totally knit those fingerless gloves for Paul.

Hey, I came by your page via the blog you posted on Neatorama. I had some friends do Sweeney Todd for a little open-mic night and I lent her my "granny shoes" as I call them. They're like old-fashioned librarian shoes. I stuck an image link in the URL for you. They seemed to work well for her and they're not too expensive. If you need a reason to justify their purchase, they work well for professional shoes too!

Good luck and I can't wait to see the finished product!
